Look, there's nothing wrong with coming up and saying "Hi." People do it
all the time, and it's actually quite nice. The only thing I ask is that
people not overstay their welcome. Five minutes, max - particularly when
I'm out with the wife (quality time, and all). Some cats will talk at you
for an hour or more if you allow it, and I've never learned how to say "Sir
or madam, I've given you a bunch of time. But now, please - for the love
of all that's holy - shut your mouth and leave me alone. The moment is
over."
