Well, everyone they dealt with throughout the movie, with the angels and demons and things, they WERE all Old Testament. Meanwhile God can't really be pigeonholed, being--you know--GOD and all.

Finest kind,

Russ

: True, but I also just read a transcript of an interview with a religious expert (I can't remember her name) on the 'summeries' board for Dogma (is 'summery' like 'wintery' only different?) in which she says that the end of Dogma is also too nice. Again I find myself tending to agree. The whole film is representing religion in a very old-testamentish way, but God is just so NICE. She cleans up the mess that Afflek/Damon leave, and she not only resurrects Bethany but makes her pregnant in to the bargain. Is this the same God that wiped out the entirety of Sodom because s/he didn't approve of homosexuality? And lets not forget that Babel's real crime was having a common language so that everyone could understand each other.

: Noiw don't get me wrong, I'm as much of a fanboy as the next geek and am just playing Devil's advocate here, but..... is Kevin Smith too nice? CAN you be too nice? (Well, Disney) I dunno, I just sometimes think that people find things shocking or out of order 'coz they think that they ought to, rather than 'coz of any real controversy. E.g. Kevin has a reputation for being foul-mouthed, but I don't think that the word 'cunt' has been used once in any of his films.

: Still who says he wants to be anything other than nice?

: 'I'm in the mood for a little vivisection'
