Not many people would have that presence of mind or willpower to consider Kevin's feelings on this. Kudos.
Must of us would have pounced on him like the rabid, drooling, babbling Fan-Boys we are.
I've dealt with this on a much smaller scale working in radio, and it's a little wierd to be on the other side of that kind of attention. My friends find it amusing when we're stopped by someone who recognizes me, but I think my wife is starting to find it a bit trying.
In her defense it can be some what annoying to not be able to go out to dinner with out being approached by "Fans." And I'm sure it's like that for Kevin, but to the millionth power.
Sometimes it's nice to be low profile.
But this is Kevin, we're talking about, possible the most gracious celebrity on the earth. In the situation your discribing he probably wouldn't mind at all if you said "Hi." The man approaches near sainthood on occasion with the way he treats his fans.
If you have the opportunity try to catch him at one of his seemingly endless apperances. I got a chance to meet Kevin at a comic convention in Chicago, and it was much more than I expected. He graciously singed all my swag and shook my hand as I mumbled about how great he is to all of us Fan-Boys. Later when I posted my story on the board, he even remembered me. The man's a class act and it's worth the trip to catch him.
If Kevin sees your post he'll be impressed with your thoughtfulness as much as I am.
Just remember when it comes to meeting celebrities it's all about timing and context. General Rule: don't jump at them when their mouth's full.
~JoKor~ wishes he could be just half as cool and gracious as the Bob.....
