*A lot of people will most likely be going in pairs of two. If two of your friends are in a different theater than you, I'm sure that you can find someone to trade tickets with in the line the day of the event. They should have no problem with the difference in theaters if it allows you to be with your friends. While it's not a guaranteed plan, it's better than nothing if you're put in that situation.
