I think a grand total of 5 have said anything harsh to you, and one of them is that "Fletch" guy, so that does not count. (You need a full set of 23 chromosomes to count.) But I understand that it can seem like EVERYBODY hates you or is pouncing on you when those 5 post at the same time.
You're here for the same reason everybody else is here; you honestly love the films that Kevin Smith writes. Don't cheat yourself out of having the chance to virtually "hang out" with the guy who has made you laugh & entertained you so much, just becuase some folks love to feel "in with the summary-reading-in-crowd."
You have as much right to express ytourself here as anybody else does.
I hate to see an enthusiastic fan squashed by the general mean-vibe on the board. I know that when I first posted here, I posed a relatively off-topic question for the VA staff, and the first response I got from anyone was something to the effect of "FUCK YOU AND DIE." I "went away" for a good two months after that. I checked back in on a day that Brian Lynch had posted something referencing the short-lived (but mcuh loved) 80s tv show AUTOMAN, and have been hooked ever since. (So blame Lynch for my verbal diarhea here.)
I think folks don't realize that Banky was not the hero of Chasing Amy; it was only Lee's charisma that made him such a favorite. The character itself is a grade-A prick. And when folks try to be Banky-on-the-Board, without Lee's charm or any particular wit, it just makes things nasty.
But don't give up on everybody just yet. Most folks here *are* of similar interest base, sense of humor, and generally nice. We all like the same 4 flicks, now don't we?
