Had you ever read anything about the Roman Catholic churh prior to reading the script? If you have any Catholic background, I'd be curious as to what your reaction was. Do you think that Kevin broke new ground with this film, or retread standard arguments?
I'm a Christian myself, but I just don't get why folks feel the need to bash a *movie* when it simply critques something we should be critquing anyway. I'm sure you wouldn't see people up in arms over a film that pokes fun at Buddahism . Sometimes I feel embarrassed about the so-called fellow believers, but I guess they're human too.

I get to vent less than a porta-potty at a Phish show,
