: And why does DVD-18 suck? I love my T2.
I hate the fact that you can't put any artwork on the front of the discs, and you have to read that tiny-ass title, side info that's near the hole in the center of the disc. Plus, they are more suseptible to fingerprints. I much prefer having two discs with diffrerent artwork on each disc. There was an article in the NY Times about DVDs a month or so ago, and some dork from Warners said that 2-disc sets are a "marketing ploy"- i.e., people see 2 discs and think automatically they are getting more than any single disc can offer- and that DVD-18 is just as good- I disagree. It's NOT "just a marketing ploy"- I happen to much prefer 2-disc sets myself for the reasons stated above. The simple fact that Artisan couldn't fill their DVD-18 orders of T2 and had to press a bunch of 2-disc sets to make up the difference should clue them in to that DVD-18 sucks.
: In an earlier post you said you'd love to adapt some novels. Can you give names?
Oh yeah, and let you option them and steal them away? I don't think so.
;-)
: Minus Chasing Amy, what's your favorite Criterion disc? I've goota go with Brazil myself.
DVD or laserdisc? I like RUSHMORE a lot, and ROBOCOP and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS are both just spiffy.
: In the Clerks Xmas Comic, what was the deal with the creepy mop boy named after you?
That's an old joke between Kevin and I. I was always a bit moody, much moreso when I was younger. Kevin actually was going to write a psychotic ex-mop boy character into the original CLERKS script, but cut it for time/budget reasons.
