Men in Red - Screenwriting software query

I checked the summaries... couldn't find anything to answer my question there. I'm sure this question has been posted previously and I apologize ahead of time.

I'm currently enrolled in a screenwriting class, and have discovered that there are several software programs that can help with the format and everything. I wish I knew this before I started work on mine.

So my question to you is this: Do you have a favorite software program you use, if not, which do you recommend to someone starting out?
