William Goldman has repeatedly and sincerely said that he thinks Matt & Ben are two incredibly talented and lucky young men. He joked in various articles in the media, that -- and if you go back and read carefully, I'm certain you will find that this is true in his book as well -- despite him knowing nothing about class differences in Boston, a city he never lived in and was not particularly interested in, he randomly decided to write a screenplay about it and then hand all the credit over to two actors.

He was being completely facetious. Which means that he was being sarcastic. Which means that it isn't true and he never intended for it to come off that way.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that apology.

: Well I will not quote what was said in William s book on this board but will tell you that before anyone wants to send profanities and accus eme of not getting my facts straight read the bloody book or at least page 332 where he discusses his involvement in Good Will! I DID NOT start this only made reference to what I had already read so Please don't shoot the messenger !
