I don't think a dammed person tried to answer the actual question. All Myst wanted to know was about the effects.
Most of the effects in Dogma are relatively simple, compared to what some other movie makers do. They were probably done without much difficulty. Anyone with the right software and the skill could pull most of that off. Not that I'm detracting from the effects, just relatively speaking, when compared to the Phantom Menace and Matrix they pretty basic.
And the best thing about creating effects? You don't need to know a damn thing about grammer! Hope that helped.
