It's a book. Kevin's in it, along with a couple of other indie gods. Try and get your hands on a copy.
In the meantime, my advice: just do it. That's how Kevin did it. He made a movie, and somebody liked it enough to fund the distribution.
Also, just to clarify, Greenlight is a Matt and Ben project. I don't think Kevin has anything to do with it.
