I'm pretty sure during the Commentary on the DVD, Kevin says that it is actually one of the comic artists they had hired to draw up all the different comics for the movie was the one doing the actual drawing. Can't remember for sure, and it's too late at night for me to check it out, so just pretend that I'm right. Barry White frightens me, too.
