: ...and not the small, but zealot-loyal cadre of board readers, who have no idea that Jay & Silent BOb have their own funnybook, or that they even MAKE funnybooks about people without superpowers, the possibility MIGHT exist for some of the "comic continuity" to show up in a movie.
Yeah, but then there's the fact that the vast audience of moviegoers really don't give a fuck about Jay and Silent Bob's orangutan, or remember that there was an orangutan in Mallrats, or even remember Mallrats in the firstplace. Not to say that there definately won't be a monkey in VA5, but to generalize that the movie is BASED AROUND ONE is incredibly stupid because the title of his article says 'monkey'. It seems that you fanboys have forgotten the concepts of metaphors and figures of speech. I keep stopping by this board and see these speculations about a grand Suzanne-based movie, which is inherintly stupid. Sure, monkeys (orangutans) are funny, but to sit and watch one for ONE AND A HALF HOURS is just mind-numbing. I mean, if they were truly that original and entertaining, we might all be posting on a "Dunston Checks In" message board instead.
Plus let's keep in mind that Suzanne was just supposed to be a whole one-time-joke deal (at least I assume it was), but the rabid fanboys demanded more, so Kevin gave more and made the comic. Same shit happened with Walt Flannagin's Dog, and I'm sure several other 'loose threads' in the Askewniverse that I can't remember at the moment. Oh yes, and let's not forget the soon-to-come Bartleby and Loki miniseries, where I'm sure we all learn that the Mooby Exec is Bart's dad, so CheifPunkAss can shut up.
Wow, this one post is bigger than all the other posts I've made together in the four(?) years I've been on this board. Now let's stop talking about the fucking monkey and get back to what's really important, flaming the newbies.
