: it is their right to protect it. The reason region coding exists is so a person can't own a DVD before it is out in theators.

Not as many people do this as you may think. The main reason anyone generally gets region one DVDs in Britain is because there are dozens of titles and features that are not available here, either because the company is too lazy to put any extras on the disc(which is happening less now, so it's not much of a problem anymore), or more importantly because the film is banned, or severely edited, for no good reason at all.

:Plus it takes money away from the company that has been licensed to release the movie in the other country.

Like Warner Bros? Yes, I agree, since they're probably concerned nobody si buying the piece of shit discs that they put out over here. Only about three Warners films have been released with any extras at all.

Why shouldn't we buy imported movies. It's likely that many films will never be released on video or DVD over here at all. I mean, we're here on the VA noard and you're not even considering VA films, for Christ's Sake. Cerks is only available from an arthouse distributoe, and Criterion doesn't exist here, so we'll never see those films on region 2 disc.

: PS - the region 2 version of The World is Not Enough had more extras on it.

So did Bride of Chucky.
