I'll have to check out the DVD, by that I mean ordering it because in Oklahoma there is no outlet to rent DVD's, at least wierd or different DVD's. I remembering being rather confused by the whole vietnam part of the movie and then think "oh, ok he died there" that makes little to no since. However, it did lead to my dad and I's first vietnam talk which later continued when I talked him into watching Platoon. Anyway, thanks for the recomendation.
