: This is a really well-made, sweet film- everybody here should see it. The kid in it is great- he gives what may be the best performance by a juvenile I've ever seen. It's a great "feel good" movie for those who are contemplating suicide after seeing my previous reccommendations DANCER IN THE DARK and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM.

BILLY ELLIOT? The preformances were good (was that the bully from RUSHMORE?) and it's certainly a feel-good movie for the most part, but it seems to be getting really overrated. I couldn't find myself caring about this boy's talent because A) tap dancing and ballet are two different things and B) I didn't know half the time if we were supposed to recognize him as genius or laugh at his dancing. It's an alright movie, but not one I'd really recommend since it felt like a really long time to get to the conclusion I knew was coming 5 minutes after it started. I'm probably the minority though...BILLY was sold out when I saw REQUIEM FOR A DREAM last night, so you're obviously not the only one who is telling people to see it.
