: Okay, we know that Randal and Brodie are related to each other because they both have a Cousin Walt, who is quite weird. To recap, we know that Cousin Walt died trying to go down on himself. We know that he stuck a few cats up his ass trying to retrieve a hamster, and we know he jerked off on an airplane that he thought was gonna crash. Now, in Mallrats, while Brodie and TS are at the flea market, Brodie yells over to a guy named Walt. I'm assuming that this is the infamous Cousin Walt. If Cousin Walt died trying to suck his own dick, how could he have been at the flea market when we know that Mallrats happens the day before Clerks does. One could argue that he died on the night of the events of Mallrats, but when Randal is telling the story in Clerks, he talks as if it happened a few years earlier. Of course, at the flea market, Brodie could have been talking to a completely different Walt...possibly the mysterious owner of Walt Flanagan's Dog. Then again, I had always assumed that Cousin Walt and Walt Flanagan were one in the same since its unlikely that Mr Smith would include two unseen characters in his Askewniverse named Walt. Any thoughts on who this Flea Market Walt might be?
the askewniverse is too hard to explain and there are many paradoxes and continuity errors and other such stuff that is too hard to figure out. just take a deep breath and forget about it. in case you care, here's my favorite paradox:
Clerks takes place the day after Mallrats and we know that Mallrats happens around Easter. Now, when Dante and Randal come back from the funeral parlor shortly after 5 (we know this from the movie and the comic book) it is pitch black as if it were in the dead of winter. weird huh?
don't think too hard about anything. there are no real answers in this world.
