: Since when is voting for who you believe in stupid! I voted for Henry Browne.

Since it is an empty gesture. And since real consequences arise from the viable, "winnable" choices. Look, I'm as frothing a "liberal" as you are going to find, but I would have voted for McCain in a heartbeat, even though I disagree with many of his stances. Because I could believe in *him*, and that his opinions and decisions would be made by his own sense of reason, decency, and borne out of a position of what he feels would be best for the country. Not his lobbyists, or folks who gave him money.

But he was not on the ballot- if I voted for him as a write-in, I would have been voting for who I believed in, but I would have invalidated my effect on the election. There is a harsh pragmatism that, I feel, is the responsibility that is your due, that comes with the power of voting.

Yes, this is America. You have the right to vote for Bill the Cat, or Opus. We are free enough to allow idiots their idiocy. The same freedoms allow me to rail against them.

But across party lines, I hope we can all agree on one thing: Monkey = funny.

Viva la VA5.

: : : If I hear one more asshole blame the 3 percent of us who voted for the only candidate who we honestly believe deserved to be president, I'm gonna scream.

: : This is akin to someone throwing a baby down a flight of stairs, and then getting all uppity, saying "IfI hear ONE MORE asshole yell at me for throwing a baby down the stairs, I'm going to scream. How about blaming EVERYBODY ELSE who could bnot convince me that throwing a baby down the stairs was a bad idea?"

: : You Nader people were bad enough when the small, idiot fraction of you proved eno8ugh to throw the country into this crisis. Now you are worse, as you are strident in your ignorance.

: : Thanks for "gripping the wheel" just enough to steer ua all into an iceberg.

: : God save me, and my country, from well intended fools.

: : A wise man once said, "Sinners do not start wars. That is the province of saints.*" Your "gesture" of voting your "conscience" has weakened the country I love and cherish.

: : With all due respect, and mindful of your 1st amendment rights, I say this to you: SHUT UP.
