That doing anything just to fit in or be cool is not a good reason. I do still object, however, to your assumption that all people start to smoke for that reason. I'm sure that's why most kids smoke, but to assume that about anyone who starts to smoke as an adult is still being judgemental adn I don't think anyone has the right to do that.
:
: : And I still think you have no business judging anyone on even why :
: : they started. Now I'll challenge you back, tell me you've never done :
: anything in your life just because your friends were doing it or
: :because of peer pressure. Well?
:
: Yes, of course I did, back in High School. Even if you started as a
: child, it's still stupid, but much more forgiveable. It's the people who
: start as adults that I really question.
: For example, I mentioned the Mallrats commentary. What are the
: chances that five random adults in a room would all be smokers?
: Not very good. What are the chances that 5 "Young Hollywood
: Players" in a room would all smoke. MUCH better. That, in itself, is
: proof that "peer pressure" of some kind played a role in those Young
: Hollywood Players' decisions to start.
: I've been trying for the last ten minutes and I can't for the life of me
: think of something more pathetic.
