Ill explain:
The studios(sometimes) want to get a product out as fast as possible, Dogma was one such example. View Askew wanted to make a quality, collectors edition DVD with tons of extras, commentaries, trailers etc. But extras and packaging for such a fine item take time, and so View Askew was under pressure from the studios to quickly release a version of Dogma, so there was a compromise: View Askew would release Dogma first as a bare bones DVD, no extras, and then later release it as a collectors edition DVD. Its a shitty way to treat consumers I agree, but dont blame View Askew. I had the same problem with Se7en, which was never intended to have plenty of extras when first released on DVD, but then was decided to be released as a packed Collectors edition, so, Im obliged to buy the new one in a few months time. Its confusing, its slimy, but dont blame the filmmakers, they'd prefer to make you wait to get a fine product rather than you getting a shoddy one immediately.

: why is it that view askew or kevin smith or whoever puts the dvd's together screwed all the fans like myself with coming out with a dogma dvd with no extras and then half a year later come out with the expected dvd with just as many extra's as the other view askew movie?
