I was a bit surprised at first, too. When i initially heard that there were 6 words in the title, i thought-- "Wow, that's a lot for *any* movie title, especially one of Kevin's!" It seems unlike him. And then i read a lot of speculations that the name would be Bluntman and Chronic are Dead (wait that's 5?), but i thought, "There's no way that will be the title!" Although, his fans would go see it... that name does not exactly draw in crowds at the box office. And let's face it... that's at least one of the goals of any film maker. Then, Kevin shared the real title with us-- Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. It fits perfectly with the Star Wars references laced throughout his movies. I think it's an awesome title-- the perfect way to end the pentagy (i like that word!). So now we know the truth and we can look forward to seeing this kick-ass movie in late summer (no pressure, Kev!). And thank you, Vincent, for being so kind as to put any lingering doubts to rest.
: I'm probably going to put my foot in my mouth, and make as ass of myself, as I usually tend to do when I post to this board, but I'm not buying it. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? No way. First of all, look at the titles of the other movies - except the two worded Chasing Amy, they are all one word titles. Now this verbal onslaught? It doesn't seem right. The other problem, it's blatant. The thing I love about Kevin's movies is the subtle humor. Yes, we all know that Star Wars references are a common link in all of the movies, but it's subtle. This is just right in your face - very not Kevin. Lastly, this is the final movie in the pentagy (okay, I made that word up), I don't think he would give it a name that referred to an outside movie. All in all, I think somebody started this as a joke, and Kevin is teasing all of us by playing along with this fake name. Perhaps JASBSB will be the working title, but the released title? I'm betting no. Kevin is too witty for something that lame.
