Are you listening to me? I would not have voted for Gore. Ever. I don't think he deserves to be president. I don't agree with most of his positions. Why the fuck would I have voted for him? I can't speak for those people who say they would have voted for Gore (what was stopping them?), but had Nader not been on the ballot, I would have written in Ficus. At least potted plants can't push buttons, or declare war.
Nader, on the other hand, is one of my heros. Has been for decades. He's saved untold lives with his challanges to automotive manufacturers, worked to preserve the environment so that we can do those petty little tasks such as breathing clean air and drinking clean water, and he's set in place laws that ensure the public's right to know what the government is up to, inasmuch as is possible in this unstable world. The man has spent his entire life working for the average Joe Shmoe.
And you think voting for him is stupid?
The people I personally feel sorry for, are the nearly half of the country who think that a man who admits to making really, really piss poor (and life threatening) decisions until well into his thirties, and has the worst record ever on education, the environment, and civil rights, is the guy they want to head our country.
Who are these people, and would they be interested in buying a bridge?
