Chasing Amy Criterion Collection question

Kevin, if you're still here, or anyone else who may know,

Besides Chasing Amy, I've seen a couple of other Criterion Collection DVD's and I've been very happy with all the additional content. Looking through their catalog, I was wondering how they make their selections. Their catalog is a very interesting collection of films, so I was wondering if you approached them or if they approached you about the Chasing Amy release.

Also, considering their catalog, is being selected by them for a CC release considered to be complimentary?
