Gotta agree with the guys above. Movie was lackluster but the books a pretty decent read. What is kind of cool is that you can head down to a little place called Marfa, Texas and head maybe an hour outside of town and you'll come upon the old ghost town where they filmed the movie. Then you can head back to Marfa at night and check out the as of yet unexplained Marfa Lights. Creepy.
