That Kevin wanted to use EA Sports' version, but made a deal with Sega for cross promotion.
In return for using the Sega version in 'rats, they would promote the movie on something they were doing.
Kevin put the Sega version in the film, but Sega did not hold up their end of the deal, but by then, it was too late.
Long story short, it's the Sega version in the film.
