First off lemme just say that it’s actually pretty damn cool that this board and site exists at all. I really can’t think of another group of individuals that have been as willing to have as much contact with the folks shelling out there hard earned ducats for the celluloid these guys put out. (Which is pretty entertaining in my ‘no man’s’ opinion.) So lets get the crap that my overly opinionated ass feels compelled to say to BORG’s post flaming Kevin Smith.
Man, take five to flip to the ‘H’ section of Webster’s bible and look up hypocrisy. Buddy, you’ve been given your proverbial 15 minutes. Hell I’ve even contributed to that by writing this little nugget. You’re bitching about a guy who wanted to do something, did it (and well) and has cultivated that something into a very successful endeavor. Is he going to enjoy that success? Fuck yes! Why shouldn’t he. Should he have feelings that this creation should be handled in a certain way and managed as he sees fit. Damn straight! Any one with kids know that you raise em as you see fit because they are totally 100% yours. You love them. You care for them. And if someone come along and tries to change them into something you don’t want then you act! So is it ego of Mr. Smith or any one else on the View Askew Crew to handle the Vulgar child as they see fit? Duh! Of course not. You’re a guest in their world bub, be polite and follow the rules. Besides, as I stated above, how’s your ego doing now that you’ve gotten all this attention for your post? Is the tick sated and bloated yet?
At any rate, The reason I signed up for this board is to communicate with a bunch of cats who have put out some pretty freakin’ good stuff over the years. So naturally having immersed my self in the Askewniverse by way of comic book, web site and movie, I’ve gotta be curious about the stuff I haven’t see. Namely the product put out by the other hippsters there in red Bank besides the Big Dude himself. (Oh believe I have plenty I’d like to ask Mr. Smith. All in due time.) So I guess my first question is Where can I get even more info on “Vulgar”, “ A Better Place”, “Big Helium Dog”, and “Tail Lights Fade”. I have read the summaries page, I’ve heard that they will be released perhaps this year. I guess I’m just eager to see ‘em. Knowing that there are other gems from the VA crown finished and floating around there in the world that I don’t have access to is driving mad. Want ‘em! Need ‘em! Gotta have ‘em! True junkie talk here buds. Do you have dates? Locations? Give a brother a break man!
