I believe that Kevin actually switched to this format because of "flame wars" and conflict brewing all over the place. Stuff like this isn't anything new, nor is it something that you will ever do away with. And he never stated that any of this influenced his consideration of merging the boards. Kevin said he wanted to go back to the old format because he liked the free-for-all nature of discussion that has dissipated since, not because TangoMania is calling teenage girls stupid.
