One of those trailers wasn't for the new Charlie Kaufman film "Human Nature" with John Cusack was it, per chance? Just wondering, I recall reading something about that.
: : I went to the movies recently, and was shocked to see that all 3 trailers for upcoming films featured, in some way, monkeys.
: : There's some Brendan Fraser thing (which looks kinda cool, actually) about a cartoonist who gets wildly popular by drawing this cartoon about a really rude monkey, and then he gets sucked into his own cartoon world and the monkey possesses him and controls him in the real world. It's got a combo of human and NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS style animation.
: : I forget what the other two were about, but they both featured, to a greater or lesser extent, a monkey.
: : I of course viewed this parsed through the filter of being a die-hard VA otaku, and was incensed that all these things are bogarting the monkey.
: : I hope that that J&SBSB will not be lost, awash in a sea of cinematic simians.. Which is to say that by the time it comes out, I hope that the critics are not sick and tired of films with apes.
: : Kevin- glad to hear that you had a wonderful christmas, and congrats on scoring the keen gear of an air-hockey table. But know this- In an alternate universe where I am somehow associated with you enough to be invited over your home; in that parallel dimension, that Josh Dobbin would be kicking your ass silly all over the floating cushion of air. My mutant ability is a frighteningly precise and innate ability at that game. You're a lucky guy to have so thoughtful a wife. Enjoy! (The air hockey table, that is.)
