I, as well as a few other die-hard independent film junkies, were more than willing to spend $8.50 to see Dogma on opening night. In retrospect to the high ticket price, never before has that 8.50 been so worth it when we realized the impact such a film made on us. Absolutely stunning. I can't speak highly enough about Dogma, no words can describe.
Your movie tackled every emotional aspect that comes with a forced Catholic upbringing, and expresses the point that Catholicism has only fueled more questions and enigmas than answers. I am now, and forever,
since the complex debates of two simple clerks, a view askew "Preacher".
Enough with my praise, on to the questioning. Dogma sparked my interest in Angelic Lore and "mythology", if that's the correct term. I have done bits of research here and there when time permits and have come across no real information short of the Kabbalah which is a mystery in itself. The question I seek the answer to is the names of the charachters in Dogma, particularly Bartleby and Loki. The bible mentions only three angels if you count Lucifer. Was there a resource you used when charachter name development was the subject of your creative process, or just names you created and sought fit for the parts. If the latter is the answer, that just goes to show you the flare you have for movie making. I would appreciate the opportunity you would endure from your busy lifestyle to respond to someone as small as I.
