Go and spend some time on billhicks.com! You'll never see Denis Leary in the same light again!
Y'see Mr Leary was a 'regular' Boston comic, no 'edginess', no 'anger' - just your run-of-the-mill type comedian. Then he saw Mr Hicks.
He changed. He changed his entire routine to mimic Mr Hicks's -- even ripping off EXACT jokes/routines! (Remember the 'Give me a pack of "Low Birth Weights"'? BH was there first!).
Everyone in the industry jokes about how Denis Leary so obviously ripped off Bill Hicks, and somehow got away with it too!
Here's an industry joke:
Q: How did Denis Leary become world famous, and yet Bill Hicks is barely known?
A: Because there's no cure for cancer!
Tis a shame.
But Mr Leary is a shallow sell-out :(
