: Vince do you know why Tristar is delaying distribution of the Dogma: SE disc? This suck ass I hope it isn't as bad as it was for the Amy DVD!

I honestly have no idea what's going on- since the delay seems to be a last-minute thing, it could be something as simple as the DVD pressing plants not being able to get the discs pressed in time for the late-January date. January is the single biggest month for DVD sales, and it's not unheard of that a pressing plant could be overburdened and not be able to fullfill it's orders to distributors in a timely fassion. Is this is the case, I wouldn't expect the delay to be more than a couple weeks. Now, this is ONLY if this is the case- if it's something else, God only knows.
NOW, Loomis over on the NewsAskew talkbacks makes a rather assinine statement re: A BETTER PLACE- "A BETTER PLACE is delayed because Vincent decided it needs more mixing." Out of what orifice did you pull that bit of information, Loomis? WHERE did I ever say the DVD is delayed because I want "more mixing"? For one thing, I never announced a definite date- if everything ran absolutely smoothly after we mixed at Skywalker in October, I was ANTICIPATING a late-January release, but never did I give a firm date. I don't think Don May or Synapse ever did either. However, something did come up- the master tape of deleted scenes was somehow misplaced, and I've been waiting to get a version outputted from the Pro-Tools system we did out sound editing on so I can record the deleted scenes commentary and put the deleted scenes tape together. Once I have that (and I've been trying to get it for about a monh now to no avail), everything will be sent to the DVD production facility and all will be right with the world. This delay is NOT because I "want to do more mixing"- it's a delay (not even really a delay since I never gave a definite date) that's entirely outside of my control and I damn well wish idiots like Loomis wouldn't shoot their stupid, ill-informed mouths off and spread false information at the drop of a hat. In fact, I've posted the very information above re: the deleted scenes tape being misplaced here several times over the past few weeks, and even on alt.video.dvd, so it's not like the proper information isn't out there for folks like Loomis to digest before they go into a forum like NewsAskew feedback and shoot their mouths off.
