The royal family has done it that way for generations. If it works for them, it must work out for God's family (especially when you consider the whole made-in-Her-image angle).
It's no accident then that bloodlines deemed by the populace to be blessed with divine soveriegnty were accepted to breed largely within themselves. That's God-like living right there.
