: That's the whole thing. This movie isn't for a more independent crowd. Kevin has stated on this board that JASBSB is a gross out comedy. It's gonna rely more on visual jokes then anything he's done before. He's put this movie in a category with Mallrats as opposed to say Clerks or Chasing Amy. This is not a small personal indie flick. It's a big (sorta) budgeted teen/young adult comedy. That being said, I think that Van der Beek and Biggs fit this movie. Kevin said they did great and that's good enough for me. We'll all be able to see firsthand come August. For now, let's have some faith.

Yeah, your right. I thought Mallrats was fucking great despite it wasn't very personal to Kevin. So, yeah, Kevin can definetly pull off a hard-R teen flick. And one with more plot to it than the other teen shit out there. It is a little strange that he'd choose a movie like this for Jay and Bob's departure.
