My most favoritest to least favoritest movies seen at Vulgathon2K:
1). A Better Place: I'm no great critic but I thought this was a very, very well made film. Great performances, locations, story, pace. I thought some (that means "some", not "a lot")of the dialogue was a bit two-dimensional (but never forced) and some of the gore was a little overdone for my tastes. Lynch was a hoot. "Asian prank callers" Too rich.
2). Bid Helium Dog: Funny, clever, good performances, a good dose of chicks a la Kentucky Fried Movie (who can forget "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble"). A very close second to A Better Place.
3). Drawing Flies: I was very interested to see this. It wasn't "the ride of your life" but I opened myself up to the picture for what it was and enjoyed the surreal quality of it. In my opinion, a slight pick up of the pace might have made the film a little more mysterious or suspensful. It reminded me of an Andy Warhol movie for some reason.
4). Cannes version Dogma: I like Dogma a lot, but I'd seen a lot of it by this time. Extra scenes are nice but the version I saw at the Diabetes Benefit was more enjoyable.
5). The Clerks Cartoons: Really wanted to see them but I didn't. They were last in my theater and my wife and I were pretty tired by that point.
So there you go.

P.S. Thanks Kevin and everybody for giving us a chance to see all this stuff.
P.P.S. Most eagerly awaited movie of 2001: The Lord of the Rings (well, what did you expect?)
