I too find this so strange. Even in a pro-alternative movie like Jeffrey there was a little dig at bi-sexuality when they're playing the imaginary game show scene and the host refers to them as three homosexual males and the waiter says "Bisexual" and Patrick Stewart say "Oh, me too." in that overdone haughty tone.
Because I'm straight but have no problem commenting on female beauty and have a rainbow bumper sticker on my car people tend to assume I'm bi and make really nasty comments about it, irregardless of whether they're straight or gay. *sigh* It seems some people always need to find someone to kick, even if they get kicked for similar reasons too.

: I have experience this sort of prejudice myself. I am bi, my friends are lesbian and even thought they KNOW that I'm bi, they refer to me as lesbian.

: There can be a stigma against bi people. Although I though I think it is utterly ridiculous that a group who complains about being judged based on sexuality, judges another group based on sexuality.
