If God is Love then surely Jesus would want to be your buddy and it promotes a nicer image than a guy on a cross.
Besides if Jesus does come back down to Earth do you think he's gonna want to see another sodding cross!?
Christians should wear fish round their necks instead. (Not real ones obviously, that would smell. And be quite odd).
