Fuck, pay attention to the “dialogue” in the films, and all your questions will be answered. I believe Hooper X says at one point (Oh, he’s a character in Chasing Amy by the way) “And so Walt’s Dog shall be referenced in Smith films, to befuddle those not “with it.” Or something to that effect. Jeez, stop and think a little, woudja? Smith films are known for answering some of life’s little mysteries. Examples:

“I stopped dropping.”: Vietnam, explained in one word.

“Fuck!”: Youth’s frustration.

“Hey, I always notice that bored look in their eyes.” : You conversations with people.
