Jason Lee : How do you relate to Kevin Smith

Jason:

Your work is great, it is always a pleasure to watch you on screen. Your acting seems to have the most impact when you are directed by Kevin Smith.
Your vocal inflection, and facial expressions seem to capture the characters you are playing much more effectively than in other work not directed by Kevin Smith.

What is it about his style, and direction that allows you, as well as others to deliver great performances (Joey Adams comes to mind).

I'm just curious to know, because other directors are no where nearly as good at bringing out the best that their casts have to offer.
