Of course Maxim takes jabs at K.S. and Dogma. The writers at Maxim took an oath to swear that any 'nerd-like' influences are 'lame' and any underage hoochy is 'hot'. Now, don't get me wrong. Underage hoochy ain't all that bad, but these guys worship at the alter of Stalone and Van Dam. Movies only get a good review if it's chock full of graphic violence and nudity. They don't mention the story of Gladiator for more than a line or two, yet the fight scenes get six paragraphs. Even if one of the writers has a fancy for anything independant, it's buried beneath pictures of women with knives imbedded into their skulls, and children sucking on walrus eyeballs. These are the guys in high school who latched onto the popular kids, desperately trying to be like them. If the quarterback made fun of a fat kid, they usually responded with nods of agreement and lame little jabs of their own, with the hope that it would raise their status. These guys are insecure, praying that by being caustic and rude, they'll gain wider acceptance. Fuck 'em.
