: i am writing a movie and i need help on how to make the diologue a little less cold.
A couple of things come to mind:
1) Find a writing partner.
2) If your dialogue needs some "kick"/"life" to it, you may be having difficulty differentiating characters. You (as in YOU, Pat) are writing everything from your POV. Try defining your characters, their backgrounds, what they think and WHY they think that way.
3) Try tape-recording conversations with friends/family. Take notice of the differences in style, prose, humor, sentence structure, etc.
: when i am ready to start filming how do i go about getting a director, producer, actors, etc.
This is a somewhat detailed set of tasks, all of which are best served when you have a well-polished script ready to go. I'd suggest tackling the scripting first and worrying about the rest of this later. When you're ready, we'll still be here; and thebiggerboat (below) is right; try posting at Film-411 - it's a more appropriate site than ViewAskew.
Always,
