'Quiver 1 - The Queen is Dead (Long Live the Queen)', that is (natch).

in fact, it's the first comic i've bought. nice to know, eh?

yes, i liked it muchly. it looks good, it's written well, and it looks like this story could be a good one. there are a lot of references to previous stories and stuff which i don't really know about, but that didn't stop me enjoying the book.

i liked the pacing,
the setting of the scene for Ollie's return with various characters talking about him,
the mixture of action moments with thoughtful reminiscences,
the mixture of serious stuff with little jokes,
and, of course, the artwork is fantastic too.

it's also nice to read the adverts for American confectionary that we don't have over here in England. and the anti-cigarette and anti-drug messages were kinda interesting...

i'd prefer a lack of adverts in the middle of a story, but i get that they're there and that's that.

but i digress.

Kevin, sir, i like the book and am anticipating the next issue with some excitement. not too much, but a good amount, i feel. and the nice wee (well, not so wee) message to the readers at the end of the book was cool to read. good stuff.

so, a guy who hasn't bought a comic before (although i've got four others that my dad bought in America years ago as a present) has bought a comic.

the first of many?

Rob xx
