For Christ's sake people, how many times do we have to go over this?!?!?
William Goldman is a very sarcastic and funny man. In one of his books, he makes a JOKE about how he wrote GWH (this was also reprinted in I think Premiere magazine). It was a JOKE. Ben and Matt have addressed it, as has Goldman. It was a JOKE. JOKE= something said in jest; not meant to be taken seriously.
If you've ever read anything else written by Goldman (not just his screenplays, the man has written a ton of novels and a few non-fiction books) you would see that that is the type of sense of humor he has.
So of course it doesn't bother anyone that Goldman read the script or gave them advice. About 99% of the time a script gets messed with a lot in Hollywood, and a lot of these times it is by someone from outside. So even if there was a rewrite, who cares. It sounds like you're the one bothered by it because you've bought into the whole Ben & Matt fairy tale, which the media splashed all over the place even though most of us know they'd been around working their asses off for awhile.
Well, I think that's all I have to say about that.

: Especially the VA employees... but everyone else as well.... what do you all think of this whole thing? I know it's old news, but I didn't see it the archives. I know everyone here has to know the story. Does it not bother any of you at all? I like them both... I just think it's weird that niether has chosen to address the question.
