I want a chatroom that actually WORKS!

I can never get the view askew chat to work? Do any of you guys go in there?
I wouldn't mind an official chat that everyone can meet 'n' greet - especially the celebs - in that we can all converse with one another... ?
Is that too much to ask? Or better yet get the chat advertised above the board to WORK!
