: : It's a Greco-Roman term for the people of Sub-Saharan Africa (known as "Nubia"). The north African, lighter-skinned people were all generally known as Egyptians, and the darker peoples to the south as Nubians.

: : In the 60's and 70's the Black Power movement started picking up on this term for any black person; it refers to the rich history and culture of the African continent and its descendents. Basically in this context it means a beautiful and proud black, black man.

: : love that ancient history

: : : 1.What is a nubian?(I'm dumb,I know this,don't flame me)

: : : 2.When Holden says that he sees Bluntman and Chronic as a mix between Rosencrantz and Guildernstern and Vladimir and Estregon(sp?),who are Vladimir and Estregon(sp?)

: I could be mean and just tell you to read the goddam summaries...and you SHOULD read the goddam summaries, but anyway...
: If I recall correctly from when I read the goddam summaries, Vladimir and Estragon (my spelling may be wrong on that...a rarity, so go ahead and seize on it) are characters in the play Waiting for Godot. They are your basic shiftless layabouts with no apparent agenda (shopping or otherwise).

None of that was supposed to really be aimed at you, Isis. I was just picking up where you left off.
