Yup. I bought a Phillips DVD820, which I'm not sure whether it is "multi-region" or it has just been modified - the difference being one is specifically manufactured to play multiple regions, the other has just had a chip removed by the retailer to set the playr to zero (all codes).
The problem is that in Australia there are now laws prohibiting the sale of these "modified" players - so you might have to ask your store if they have multi-zone players. If anybody else on the Board can correct me on any of these, please do!
As for the DVDs themselves, I've ordered all of the VA discs and all have worked fine. You are looking at around $50 Australian with the current exchange rate, but I ordered a t-shirt or two with mine to make the shipping charge worthwhile.
