I was surprised nobody mentioned Sublime as being a band that should be on the new soundtrack. I feel that smoke two joints played a very important role in Mallrats, and that many more Sublime songs could also help the new movie. Also, upbeat and crazy ska bands like the Aquabats, and Voodoo Glow Skulls, would also help the soundtrack.
