: The King of Epics??? Ha!!! Hardly. The guy couldn't act his way out of a shoebox. In an elementary school play where kids forget lines and wander aimlessly, HE'D be the worst actor. He is, without a doubt, one of the worst overrated actors EVER. He sucks. I can never remember a time I was moved by one of Charleton Heston's performances, unless it was being moved to vomit. It was really hard to ignore his obvious bad acting and judge Planet of the Apes separately. So perhaps you were right. He was Planet of the Apes, and that made the movie suffer greatly. The movie now has a chance to redeem itself. I don't know if it will, but a piece of chewed up gum would be better than Mr. Heston. I think he took acting lessons from a book on how to assemble cars, along with William Shatner and Jim Carrey (minus Simon Birch and perhaps Truman Show)
