I was doing a Google search for Gregory McDonald information, when I came across a page that was originally in French. Using Google's translation feature, I discovered that the French titles of Gregory McDonald's book are hilarious when translated back into English. Some are appropriate, some are nearly identical to their English counterparts, and some are downright hilarious. Examples:
"Fletch's Moxie" becomes "The Base Of Fletch"
"Carioca Fletch" becomes "Fletch In Rio"
"Fletch and the Widow Bradley" becomes "Fletch and the Bradley Widow"
"Fletch and the Man Who" becomes "Fletch and Dead Women"
"Fletch, Too" becomes "Fletch Father and Wire"
"Confess, Fletch" becomes "Fletch In Table"
"The Buck Passes Flynn" becomes "Flynn Plays and Gains"
"Flynn" becomes "Flynn Has Fun"
"Flynn's In" becomes "Flynn Is Annoyed"
"Fletch's Fortune" becomes "Fortune of Fletch"
and best of all...
"Fletch Won" becomes "Fletch Is Smashed".
