Hiya, folks.
Forgive me if this question has already been by Kev, I haven't been on this board in nearly a year (a job can really ruin a guy's internet time).
Anyway, Kev, I'm interested in knowing your thoughts on the so-called "future of filmmaking": the digital format ? When I say that, I mean both the use of digital cameras and digital projection in cinemas.
I know your hero Lucas is all giddy about it and your pal (would-be "Dogma" director, kick-ass cameraman and all around penny-pinching filmmaker) Robert Rodriguez seemingly feel head-over-heels in love with the format after Lucas invited him to the set of "Ep. II" and showed him how the cameras work.
They claim the new cameras Lucas is using are so hi-res that they're virtually indesciperable from film. And it's supposedly cheaper (by millions of dollars) because it saves on developing and editing costs. It's just the cameras themselves that are expensive right now.
Ofcourse you probably knew all of this already. I'm interested to know your thoughts on the subject and if you're looking forward to trying it anytime soon ?
By the way, I just downloaded the "JSBSB" trailer; funny shit. Can't wait to see it.
