First it was the guy in my Intro to Special Ed class that walked in with a Dogma water bottle and now this?
Yesterday, there was full page article in our paper about Kevin and his films. It wasn't even really about JASBSB, it was about Kevin. I guess there is life at my university after all! Just some highlights:
"When writer/director Kevin Smith was 20-years-old, he had a dream. He didn’t want to become a doctor, a lawyer, an astronaut or even a movie star,He wanted to own a deli.“I couldn’t really do much,” Smith said. “I didn’t have many blue-collar skills and I certainly had no white-collar skills, but I thought I could make a decent sandwich ... based on my girth alone [it’s obvious] I can make a decent sandwich. I figured if I bought a deli, it could probably carry me through to my retire- ment ... before my 21st birthday it was deli or nothing.”
"Jay Mewes is a good friend of mine of course, and I was a fan of his for years,” Smith said.“He always really struck me as funny and very weird. When I got bit by the movie bug, I just wrote him in because I wanted to see if anybody would think he’s funny. I wrote this kind of heightened version of him. There are definitely Jay attrib-utes in here but it’s very much a character.”
" . . . although retirement of his New Jersey characters will be permanent. 'There will be no more Jay and Silent Bob; it will be from now on new characters, like Roy and Silent Bill. It's just changing things up a little bit.'"
"' . . .everyday I kind of chuckle to myself, becaue I feel like I've gotten away with something.'"
Does this happen at other universities, or just mine?
